They've been pals since they were 10 years old.

'I support him in all of his artistic expression,' the 47-year-old laughed when host Trevor Noah asked him about the ink.

'It's not one man's job to tell another man what he can do to his back,' Damon added.
Noah replied: 'Fair enough, that's a good friend answer actually.'

Ben, 45, surprised social media fans when a picture of him topless on the beach in Hawaii prepping his new film Triple Frontier went wide.

It clearly showed colorful showed the colorful tattoo covering his back and shoulders.

The star once claimed the ink was fake and specially applied for a role he was playing.

Clearly that's not so, but it doesn't bother Matt who talked about his long friendship with Ben on the show.

He joked: 'Unfortunately I can't seem to shake him. I've known him since I was 10, so it's 37 years.'

The pals rose to fame in 1997 when they won the Oscar for Best Screenplay for Good Will Hunting in which they also starred.

Meanwhile, Matt was on the Daily Show with Gary White on the eve of World Water Day.
